Joseph B. Matheson is a Certified Public Accountant with more than seventeen years of public and private accounting experience. Joe passed the November 1984 CPA exam with one of the highest scores in the nation, garnering honors at both the state (J.H. Cohn Award nominee) and national level (Elijah Watt Sells Award). He received a Baccalaureate in Economics/Accounting from Rutgers University, graduating summa cum laude as the class salutatorian. Joe also received his MBA with honors from Seton Hall University earning a Certificate of Achievement in International Business. Joe initiated his career at Deloitte & Touche (formerly Deloitte, Haskins + Sells) in the tax department as a Senior Tax Accountant. Later, Joe moved to AT&T in the CFO organization as a Senior Financial Analyst before starting his public accounting practice.

Joe is a Certified Valuation Analyst (CVA) by the National Association of Certified Valuation Analysts (NACVA, on of the oldest and most prestigious certification organizations) and is Accredited in Business Valuation (ABV) by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA). Also, he is a Fellow of the American College of Forensic Examiners Institute (FACFEI) and holds Diplomate from the American Board of Forensic Accountants (DABFA). In addition, he is also hold the titles of Certified Information Technology Professional (CITP) and Personal Financial Specialist, both of which are earned from the AICPA.

Joe has taught various accounting and business classes for the Small Business Development Centers of New Jersey (part of the SBA), continuing education classes to other CPAs and is a member of the Speakers Bureau for the New Jersey State Society of Certified Public Accountants. Joe voluntarily speaks at various functions as a service to his community and resides in Summit, New Jersey with his wife Beth and two children, Alexander and Taylor.
